Lemons & Olive Summer Wedding in Florence

Laura and Marc are a cheerful couple originally from UK and Netherlands, currently living in Dubai. They wanted their wedding to be the occasion not only to celebrate their love, but also to spend quality time with nearest and dearest. For this reason, they organized a 3-day summer wedding in Florence. It was indeed a location that everybody could easily get to with the opportunity to then extend their stay in Florence or around Italy.

They booked an historical villa on the hills around Florence for their special day along with a farmhouse a few steps away for the overnight. This gave them the possibility to organize a welcome dinner and a brunch at the farmhouse, without spoiling the spaces for the Big day.

The ceremony was particularly touching: they wanted that to be the real, legally binding marriage, so that everybody could be part of that special moment. However, the venue didn’t have an agreement with the town hall for this. So, we had to put in motion our network of exclusive connections to make it possible. The process for bride and groom was pretty easy and in the blink of an eye they were officially husband and wife!

Although it was summer, the weather was very pleasant with a nice breeze that made every moment enjoyable. From the ceremony, to the apéritif with view on the dome; from the al fresco dinner to the last dance everybody had fun and a memorable experience.

MOOD BOARD AND STYLE

Scent of summer

Lemons, lemons, lemons. We can affirm that lemons had a significant role in Laura and Marc’s wedding. When they visited the venue they fell in love with the “Limonaia”, the place where lemon trees are stored in winter. The ceremony had to be there. The concept was then centred on lemons with a palette composed of yellow, ivory, green and hints of blue.

Nothing could be more appropriate to decorate the ceremony, that groups of small lemon trees at the beginning of the aisle and then at the bride and groom’s sides. While olive branches and lemons adorned the chairs. We used flowers – beautiful Avalance roses – just for the bride and bridesmaid bouquet. The rest was completely lemon-oriented.

While this setup was apt for the ceremony and the rustic limonaia, it created a nice contrast with the formality of the villa and its majestic facade. The wooden tables, along with the string lights and the rustic centrepieces softened the sternness of the venue in a laid-back atmosphere.

TESTIMONIAL

They were everything we could have hoped for… and more!

We’re not quite sure how we can put into words how special Sara and her staff are.  Simply put, we could not have done it without them.  From the very start of the process they were everything we could have hoped for… and more! From providing us with a great selection of suppliers, helping us to decide what we really needed to bring our wedding vision to life (and what we could do without), responding to our endless email queries, accompanying us on venue and site visits, assisting with legal formalities, attending the town hall and acting as translator, walking us through the wedding day beforehand and of course providing expert co-ordination for the day itself… these incredible ladies were a safe pair of hands from start to finish. Our wedding day was truly magical and because of the amazing support provided by Sara and Pauline throughout the day, was one that we could simply relax into and enjoy along with our guests, whilst they expertly worked behind the scenes to make sure that the day (night and early hours!) went off without a hitch.  You will always be such an important part of our story.  We’re truly grateful for all of your support and whilst we may be back to work and back to reality, our hearts are still smiling! From the bottom of our hearts… thank you.
