Glamourous wedding in Florence castle

Katherine and John contacted us one year before their wedding. Living in Canada, expecting guests from North America, Australia, London & Ireland they wanted a venue easy to get to and in proximity to Florence. Lovers of food, wine and music, it was a must that entertainment and dancing can last late into the night. An atmospheric vibe and a romantic setting were the cherry on top. As many other couples they weren’t able to come to Tuscany to visit the venue before booking. Therefore, it was an intense back and forth of email and call that brought them to the choice to hold their wedding in Florence Castle.

The planing process was very fun, with their families attending food tastings and meetings. While the overall atmosphere was romantic and elegant, Katherine and John wanted also to add some fun touches to their special day. John, who get ready in the centre of Florence, decide to go to the venue with his ushers by Vespa. They were so cool, riding on the Florentine bridges and on the windy road that lean to the castle! Meanwhile, Katherine and the bridesmaids were collected by a red WV minivan, that at night was also used as a photo booth corner.

MOOD BOARD AND STYLE

Tuscan vintage glamour

Katherine and John’s wedding has definitely a vintage and glamour character which came almost itself when we started discussing ideas. They wanted something that could complement the venue and its fairytale ancient soul. At the same time they wanted to play down the formality that comes along with this type of venue. They wanted to add some novelty and to transform the classic decadence in a glamorous vintage atmosphere.

Our colour palette was made of dusty tones, lit up by raspberry pink and vintage gold hints, while we used a variety of flowers to create a messy and soft look. The ceremony took place on the terrace of the castle. A carpet of real green grass defined the aisle which was fringed by natural-looking arrangements, some sort of “bushes” of greenery and flowers lean on the ground. The dinner — that has to be in a greenhouse because of the weather — was designed with a mix of rectangular wooden table and round tables. The mix generates a welcoming, informal, yet charming atmosphere also thanks to the string lights that sprinkled the ceiling.

TESTIMONIAL

Absolutely Perfect Wedding!

Sara and her team were fantastic at planning our destination wedding. We were not able to visit venues before deciding, but Sara proposed such good alternatives, explaining the pros and cons of each one, that we felt comfortable booking from overseas. We had multiple options for every service, they escorted us to tastings, trials and meetings. The wedding itself went without an issue although the weather was uncertain. Professional and prompt, they helped to eliminate the stress of the day which was magical, enjoyed by all. Thanks you, we couldn’t have done it without you!
