Autumn intimate wedding in Florence

Pamela and John’s intimate wedding in Florence is definitely the evidence that a wedding can be planned with a very short notice. Little more than two months passed between the first conversation and their vows. A the very beginning they were a bit uncertain on the feasibility of a destination wedding, November is low season and many venues are closed. Moreover to plan everything from New York could be complicated especially if you’re very busy and the countdown is running. However we immediately had a good feeling, to work together was extremely easy.

Pamela and John decided to spend the Thanks Giving in Italy with family and close friends, so we organized a 3 days celebration. They staied at an hotel a few steps from Florence where we organized welcome dinner and farewell brunch. The wedding though had to be special and unique, so we hired an ancient Villa overlooking the city centre. With many indoor spaces, it was simply perfect for an autumn wedding. Every moment took place in a different setting and we created a diffent ambience at every step.

MOOD BOARD AND STYLE

Autumn warmth

This autumnal intimate wedding in Florence gave us the opportunity to create an entirely different atmosphere compared to the weddings we are used to organizing in spring and summer. Cosiness, simplicity, naturalness where the key factors. We decided to focus on the natural light of candles. As in November, it gets dark quite early, we knew that we could have greatly appreciated the effect and the warmth candles can create. The entire event was designed around this concept.

We didn’t use any flower, except for the bridal bouquet, we opted for local greenery such as eucalyptus, ruscus and olive branches for all the other decorations. The ceremony was very essential: plenty of candles along the aisle with some branches laying on the floor. A light background of greenery with candles in different sizes and shapes for the altar. The magic touch was given by the candles on the walls: the mirror holders amplified the effect creating a natural welcoming atmosphere. For the centrepieces we created a symbolic tree using a tall vase with a bunch of greenery and hanging glass spheres with tea lights. Same style for the fireplace that framed bride and groom during dinner.

TESTIMONIAL

We can sum up our experience in a word - spectacular!

Floé created a magical experience that brought our vision to life beyond our expectations. Challenged with the task of building our destination wedding in two and a half months, they made the process seamless. There was an ease and simplicity in working together that removed all of the stress! Through a few conversations, emails and an exchange of images they were able to build the perfect experience. They made the decisions easy through a selection of mood-boards and menus that allowed us to pick and choose exactly what worked best. They are knowledgable, responsive and detail oriented. As for the event itself, their presence ensured every direction was followed and each little detail we wanted to include was at the forefront. As two people who work in the food industry, and put on events as a part of our jobs, we could not have been more pleased with Floé. They were truly a pleasure and made our wedding more then we could have hoped for!
