Some Tuscan wedding venues are chosen for their ceremony spaces. Others for their views. Borgo Scopeto makes the most sense when you look beyond the wedding day itself.

Arriving here certainly feels special. The gates open onto a long driveway leading towards a collection of stone buildings that, at first glance, feels like a private Tuscan borgo. But that first impression quickly changes. From the moment you’re welcomed by the concierge and check in, it becomes clear that you’re staying at a luxury resort.

And that’s exactly how we think couples should approach this venue.

Borgo Scopeto isn’t simply a beautiful Tuscan property where your guests can also stay. Accommodation, dining, pools, wellness and activities are all part of the stay, allowing your family and friends to spend several days together beyond the scheduled wedding events.

For the right couple, that’s one of its greatest strengths.

The key to understanding Borgo Scopeto is simple: your wedding doesn’t take over a venue. It becomes part of a resort experience created around you and your guests.

Why Borgo Scopeto Feels More Like a Wedding Destination Than a Wedding Venue

One of Borgo Scopeto’s greatest strengths is that the experience extends naturally beyond the wedding day.

Because the resort is booked exclusively for the celebration, your guests aren’t simply arriving for the ceremony and leaving after the party. They’re staying with you, often for several days, with the entire property reserved for your group.

But this doesn’t create the feeling of sharing a large house for the weekend.

Borgo Scopeto still feels very much like a luxury resort. There’s a certain level of formality, professional service and, importantly, enough space for everyone to enjoy the property independently. You might meet friends by the pool in the morning, see others heading to a wine tasting in the afternoon, and come together again later for a welcome dinner or another planned event.

This balance is particularly valuable for destination weddings in Tuscany.

Your guests have opportunities to spend time together without every hour of the weekend needing to be organised for them. And with everyone staying on-site, those spontaneous moments between the official celebrations become part of the wedding experience too.

For couples looking for this kind of stay, Borgo Scopeto isn’t just where the wedding takes place. It becomes your own private Tuscan resort for the weekend.

What Changes When Your Wedding Venue Is Also a Resort

The same resort structure that makes Borgo Scopeto appealing for a destination wedding also shapes the way the celebration is planned.

Unlike a private villa where many services are brought in specifically for the event, here you’re working within an established hospitality operation. Timings, spaces, access and food and beverage services all follow the resort’s own structure.

Catering is perhaps the clearest example. All food and beverage is provided in-house, so couples need to feel comfortable with Borgo Scopeto’s culinary approach rather than selecting an external caterer. Exclusive use also typically comes with minimum food and beverage commitments that reflect the level of the property and should be considered when establishing the wedding budget.

Design requires some planning too. Even relatively simple setups will usually need additional rentals for elements such as tables, chairs, linens and tableware rather than relying entirely on what’s available on-site.

And then there’s the Plan B.

Borgo Scopeto has indoor alternatives, but having somewhere to move the wedding if it rains and having a Plan B that preserves the atmosphere you imagined are two different things.

The restaurant’s irregular layout and the neutral character of some indoor spaces mean that couples sometimes prefer a tent in the central lawn instead. We’ve used a stretch tent here for exactly this reason: it kept dinner in one of the property’s most characteristic spaces, although naturally changing some of its openness.

The best weddings here are designed with the resort, rather than independently from it.

How the Wedding Weekend Can Unfold at Borgo Scopeto

A wedding at Borgo Scopeto naturally lends itself to a multi-day stay.

A typical three-day celebration might begin with check-in followed by a welcome dinner, perhaps near the vineyards. The wedding takes place the following day, while the final day can end with a brunch, lunch or even another dinner.

What happens between these events is just as important.

Guests can spend a few hours by the pool, join a wine tasting or simply enjoy the resort independently before everyone comes together again. Especially in summer, a pool gathering can easily become another highlight of the weekend.

The wedding day itself can move through different parts of the property: an outdoor ceremony on one of the lawns or the terrace, aperitivo nearby, dinner in one of the courtyards, followed by dancing in the fireplace room.

This multi-day format also helps explain the guest count we consider particularly well suited to Borgo Scopeto. With around 55 accommodations and exclusive use of the resort, a wedding of approximately 100–120 guests makes particularly good use of what the property offers, allowing most or all of your guests to stay together.

The result isn’t simply three consecutive events.

It’s a few days in Tuscany where the wedding provides the reason to come together, but the time between celebrations becomes part of the experience too.

Is Borgo Scopeto the Right Wedding Venue for You?

Choosing Borgo Scopeto ultimately comes down to what you want the entire destination wedding experience to feel like.

If having your family and friends together matters to you, but you don’t necessarily want the intimacy or informality of sharing a private villa, the resort offers an interesting balance. Everyone stays in the same place, while professional service, generous spaces and resort facilities give guests the freedom to enjoy the weekend at their own pace.

It’s particularly well suited to couples who value comfort and service. Concierge, housekeeping, restaurants and leisure facilities are already part of the stay rather than something that needs to be created around the wedding.

On the other hand, if you’re looking for the intimacy of a private villa, complete freedom over catering and suppliers, or grand architectural spaces that become the focal point of the celebration, exploring other wedding venues in Tuscany may help you find a better fit.

For us, the reason to choose Borgo Scopeto is different.

It combines the stone buildings and countryside setting you imagine when you think of Tuscany with the comfort and services of a modern luxury resort.

And if your priority isn’t simply for the wedding to feel special, but for the entire stay to feel special for everyone, that’s where Borgo Scopeto makes the most sense.
