Colourful Wine Estate wedding in Florence

The chirp of cicades, the rustle of the wind in the leaves and children’s laughter. This is how Rachel and Nathan’s big day began, a colourful wine estate wedding in Florence.
I met them one before: Rachel had just given birth to their second son, while the “oldest” 2 years old boy was toddling around. They were sure of what they wanted: an authentic setting, good food and excellent wines, a relaxed atmosphere to share time with family and friends. When we visited this ancient villa a few mitues away from Florence, they immdiately understood that it was the right place.

When we designed the wedding of rachel and Nathan, the idea was to perfectly integrate the layout of each moment with the architecture of the villa, obtaining the best experience and result. The ceremony took place in a small garden with a fountain as perfect backdrop for bride and groom. The aperitif in the terrace where guest could enjoy the view and the summery breeze. Dinner and party were then organized in the main gardens, perfect for an alfresco dinner, followed by ice-cream, games for kids and music to chill out till late.

MOOD BOARD AND STYLE

The cheerfulness of bright colors

The brief was: keep everything natural and laid back, connected to the environment and create a cheerfulness atmosphere.

Wooden rectangular tables were a must for Rachel and Nathan, the rest, something to work on. We immediately imagined a bucolic mood, what could be better to match with their requirements and with a wine estate wedding in Florence?

The palette was a combination of pastel and britgh colours: purple blue, yellow, shades of pink. Flowers a perfect mix of different sizes and shapes to create the messy, fresh, and natural look. Every detail was studied from scratch: from invitation and stationery to exactly match the flowers we would have used for the decorations, to the table plan. It was created by hanging from one of the olive trees in the garden some ribbons and tealights. Rachel loved the idea of integrating the decorations with plants available in the garden. On each ribbon name cards hold by pegs. The result was very romantic and the colorful ribbons waving in the breeze were also a nice entertainment for kids!

The light design was meant to enhance the beauty of the venue. The facade of the villa was the backdrop for dinner and dancing while the dancefloor was defined by some string lights.
